Shared Reading Day 2: Looking at the Building Blocks


Things I need you to know:
1.  We do bathe and change clothes.
2.  These videos were slightly "staged" but we had to take advantage of our opportunity. 
3.  Shared Readings really do need to take place over the course of four days. It's one of those "do as I say, not as I do" things I hate.  

So now that we understand what is going on in the text, let's look at its pieces.  Day 2 focuses on either grammar or vocabulary.  It's kinda the "See what I (the author) did there?" day.  We examine what the author uses to emphasize their message. 

The day's activity asks students to either analyze or apply the word choice, sentence structure or punctuation.
